Planning Aid Scotland (PAS) has announced an upcoming interactive conference titled Outlook: Exploring Geddes in the New Century, which will be taking place on the 18th and 19th of August 2016.
To mark the conference, PAS has developed a new awards programme to encourage all young people to engage in their local place. The Patrick Geddes Young Placemaker award will use the Geddes approach of ‘survey, analysis, plan’ to help make better and more inclusive places for the benefit of all.
To coincide with Scotland’s Year of Innovation, Architecture and Design 2016, the two day international conference will celebrate the impact of Sir Patrick Geddes, polymath, botanist and founding father of town planning.
On Thirsday the 18th of August you will hear from young people about their sense of place as well as a range of leading thinkers, artists, architects, educationalists and planners. Day two will provide opportunities for hands on art and design workshops. The full programme for the event can be viewed here.
Register through Eventbrite to book your place at this interactive series of workshops, fusing together strands of academic and practice based thoughts from Scotland and all around the world.
