PROPOSED GOVERNANCE CHANGES NOW TITLED FUTURE DIRECTION MEMBERS CONSULTATION

CONSULTATION WITH LIS MEMBERS

LIS set out its understanding of what is now referred to as the Future Direction Members Consultation in a News item on the LIS website on 4 November and an email to all LIS members on 12 November.

You will by now have received by both post and email the LIS documentation on the Future Direction Members Consultation and the questions asked on the On Line Survey.

Before you complete the On Line Survey in order to understand LIS’s stated position we recommend as follows:

1 Read the conclusions on page 39 to the LIS Summer Conversation HERE

2 Read the Overall Key Issues Item 12.2 in the Note of The Devolved Nations Chairs Meeting of 12 March HERE

3 Read the LIS Post Scottish Referendum Position letter of 8 October to the LI President HERE

4 Read the News item on the LIS website on 4 November HERE

5 Please attend the meeting at 6 – 8pm Wednesday 3rd December 2014 in The Teacher Building 14 St. Enoch Square, Glasgow G1 4DB to hear Chris Sheradin explain the proposed changes with the opportunity to ask your questions and let him hear your views.

6 Complete the Online Survey so that your views count

This is the first of a series of very important consultations concerning the future of our profession, there are some fundamental questions to be asked and the Institute needs to hear its members clear and unambiguous views.
