This year’s core programme exploring the In Real Life [IRL]provocation will see the Architecture Fringe production team take over The Lighthouse in central Glasgow for the whole of June. They will be packing the building with new commissioned work, key events and their always-a-sell-out opening party. Early highlights of the core programme include an exploration of queered space through the queer Glasgow club scene and an exhibition investigating the adaptive re-purposing of imagined existing buildings by some of the UK’s most exciting practices including Ann Nisbet Studio and You + Pea. The big lecture this year will be from architect Peter Barber.
OPEN CALL CLOSES FOR THE LARGEST ARCHIFRINGE YET
This year’s Architecture Fringe is set to be the biggest festival to date. The Open Call for the fourth edition of the ArchiFringe received more than 80 submissions with events, exhibitions, installations, performances, talks, screenings and a summer school due to take place across Scotland this coming June.
Broadcaster Lesley Riddoch will discuss contemporary land activism with FEARRAN / LAND and designer Morag Myerscough will explore chance encounter, love and the Doric dialect with Look Again Festival in Aberdeen.
The full programme for the Architecture Fringe 2019 will launch onFriday 3rd May.
