Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) Sharing Good Practice is a unique programme of events for people from a wide variety of sectors, including land managers, local authorities, health, business, education, voluntary and government. These events provide an opportunity for practitioners with differing levels of experience to network, learn from experts, influence future policy, share ideas, gain new insights and inspiration.
As the onshore wind energy industry matures, some older wind farms are nearing the point where they will be decommissioned, refurbished or repowered.
This SNH Sharing Good Practice event will focus on the repowering of existing onshore wind farm developments – the replacement of old turbines with new ones. It will consider how to assess repowering applications; explore options for the re-use of infrastructure and include case studies from active repowering projects. It will also explore the scope for a more strategic approach to repowering.
