Notice of Annual General Meeting
This is to give you notice that the Annual General Meeting of the LIS Branch will be held in Glasgow this year.
When: Wednesday 29th April, 6.30pm for 7.00pm
Where: Teacher Building, 14 St Enoch Square, Glasgow G1 4DB

We have been lucky enough to get Will Garrett of City of Edinburgh and William Tunnell of WT Architecture to talk about the Forth Bridge World Heritage Nomination and the Forth Bridge Experience.

The Forth Bridges Forum World Heritage Steering Group has overseen the preparation of the UK government’s nomination to UNESCO, led by Historic Scotland. The steering group includes Network Rail, Transport Scotland, Historic Scotland, Fife Council, the City of Edinburgh Council, Queensferry Ambition, Queensferry and District Community Council, North Queensferry Community Council, North Queensferry Heritage Trust and Visit Scotland. The World Heritage Committee is expected to make a decision on the nomination later this year.

In December 2014 WT Architecture were appointed by Network Rail as Architects on the team to develop detailed design proposals for the Forth Bridge Experience. Initial concept proposals comprise a Visitor Centre in North Queensferry beneath the Fife Tower, with hoist access to the top of the Bridge, and a Reception Centre for a Bridge Walk from South Queensferry. The design team is led by Engineers, Arup with The Paul Hogarth Company as Landscape Architects and Turner & Townsend as Quantity Surveyors .
