National Planning Framework (NPF3) and Scottish Planning Policy (SPP) published

National Planning Framework 3 & Scottish Planning Policy

The Scottish Government published finalised versions of Scotland’s third National Planning Framework (NPF3) and Scottish Planning Policy (SPP)

These are two important documents for land-use planning in Scotland. NPF3 sets the context for development planning and provides a framework for the spatial development of Scotland as a whole. It sets out the Government’s development priorities over the next 20-30 years and identifies 14 national developments which support the development strategy.

SPP focuses plan making, planning decisions and development design on the Scottish Government’s purpose of creating a more successful country, with opportunities for all of Scotland to flourish, through increasing sustainable economic growth.

NPF3 and SPP are accompanied by a suite of associated documents and assessments which can also be found on our website.
