Scotland’s climate is changing. How Scotland’s places are planned can help futureproof against the more extreme impacts of Climate Change.
Architecture and Design Scotland has recently undertaken an exploration in to designing for a changing climate, where a whole place approach to the net zero carbon challenge was advocated. Through rethinking how we move about, how we live, how we support town centres and how we become more self-sufficient, we were able to consider different ways to address carbon emissions, as well as climate adaptation.
Join Architecture and Design Scotland for the launch of the Designing for a Changing Climate: Carbon Conscious Places Report which explores:
- 8 Principles of a Carbon Conscious Place and examples
- Vision for Scotland in 2050 – exploring rural, town and urban Carbon Conscious Places
- Reflections on 4 Pilot projects in Shetland, Strathard, Elgin and Glasgow.
