Scottish Natural Heritage have announced a Sharing Good Practice event titled Biodiversity – Design with Nature. Improving the design, planning and construction of the built environment around our homes, businesses and neighbourhoods can reap multiple benefits for people and nature.
Incorporating nature into the design process can be a low-cost way to increase productivity, reduce environmental harm, benefit biodiversity and helps to deliver the placemaking, health and other outcomes for those who live in the neighbourhood.
This event is linked to 2016 Scotland’s Year of Innovation, Architecture and Design and offers participants an opportunity to learn from and share successful design ideas for both new and existing places across Scotland and beyond. There will be a marketplace, workshops, and presentations designed to promote discussion and encourage networking.
The event will be held on the 29th of September from 9:30am to 4:00pm at the Battleby Conference Centre and is free to attend. For more information, see the Scottish Natural Heritage website.
