Competition Exhibition
A design competition celebrating collaboration and inspiration between landscape architects and architects as part of the LIS contribution to the 2016 Festival of Architecture. The proposals are based on a hypothetical setting and are concentrated on internal and external ‘gallery’ spaces siting art works and their overall integration with the house, grounds and surrounding landscape.
Judging
Our judging panel are made up of high level architect and landscape architect professionals working at Government, professional institute and practice level as well as an expert in the art word.

Awards Ceremony and Prizes
The panel will assess the entries received during the day of the 28th September 2016 and decide the awards based on agreed merits and competition criteria. The awards categories and prizes will be
- 2016 Landscape Institute Festival Award Winner- Prize of £1,500.00
- Two runners up prizes of £500.00 and £150.00
Guest Speaker: Diarmaid Lawlor: Architecture and Design Scotland ‘Collaboration = Excellence’
Diarmaid is a Landscape Architect and Urban designer and Head of Place with A&DS. He is a designer, educator, communicator and collaborator who writes and speaks on creative approaches. He has almost 20 years’ experience of helping clients make well informed decisions about complex, connected urban policy and investment challenges. to making better places.

The exhibition will be on display until 30th September 2016 and the winning designs will be displayed in Edinburgh at our winter exhibition in the Dundas Gallery, 6 Dundas Street, Edinburgh EH3 6HZ from 6 – 9 December 2016.
