Grounds for Learning (GfL) is the operational name of Learning through Landscapes in Scotland and supports outdoor learning and play for children.
We enrich the lives of Scotland’s children by providing them with the opportunities to run, jump, balance, climb, bridge, be still, explore, create, shout, sing, ride, roll, discover, hide, wonder, take risks and share, which helps them to connect with nature, become more active, learn outdoors, develop social skills and have fun.
Our Scottish Government funded 3 year ongoing programme is working to challenge ideas about play and risk in schools, and to provide tools and ideas to revolutionise play thinking within school grounds for all ages. Our recent guide The Good School Playground Guide http://www.ltl.org.uk/resources/results.php?id=712 gives a clear overview of our approach, and its supporting documents to assist teaching staff work with the new ideas sets out our aims and ethos http://www.ltl.org.uk/learning/PlaytimeRevolution
