World Landscape Architecture Month 2017

April is World Landscape Architecture Month (WLAM), an international celebration of landscape architecture. WLAM introduces the profession to the public by highlighting landscape architect-designed spaces around the world.

Established by the American Society of Landscape Architecture (ASLA), WLAM aims to demonstrate how landscape architecture affects our daily lives.

Last year, the Landscape Institute Scotland (LIS) celebrated by sharing examples of outstanding Scottish landscape architecture every day through social media, encouraging people to go out and discover their local landscape.

Following the successful social media campaign for LIS is encouraging members to take part in this month long celebration of landscape architecture by posting images of landscape architecture in Scotland with the tag: “This Is Landscape Architecture” on it to share on social media platforms.

We would love to do the same thing again this year, but we will need your help. If you have high quality images of some of yours or your practice’s best work that you would be able to share with us, please send them to mail.scotland@landscapeinstitute.org including information on how best to credit the image.

Material we can accept includes:

  • Images of excellent landscape
  • Masterplans and preliminary sketches
  • Before and after comparisons of areas that have been developed

We are looking forward to reviewing some of the best landscape architecture in Scotland. If you wish to join us in celebrating the work of our membership, come and find us on twitter and facebook and remember to include the hashtag #WLAM2017
