Young People and Placemaking – Cross Party Group on Architecture

The Scottish Parliament Cross-Party Group on Architecture and the Built Environment aims to maintain a forum of MSPs and others to promote and further the economic, social, environmental and cultural contributions that architecture and the planned environment make to the quality of life of Scotland’s citizens. Also, while acknowledging the responsibilities devolved to the Scottish Parliament, to sustain a dialogue on Scottish architecture, planning and built environment in the European and World contexts.

The Meeting will take place in Committee Room 2

Linda Fabiani MSP, invites you to attend a meeting of the Cross-Party Group on Architecture and the Built Environment on Tuesday 4 September 2018 at 6pm.

We will be joined by representatives from projects and collaborations that have taken place during the Scottish Government Year of Young People. Presentations will include the following – The Happenstance –Scotland’s contribution to the 16th international Architecture exhibition at La Biennale di Venezia – led by WAVEparticle; A Town Hall for All – a project by Penicuik school pupils with Graham Ross and Austin-Smith:Lord – part of The Art of Happenstance and; Young Landscape Architects Knowledge Exchange. Following the presentations there will be a discussion and Q&A session.

Although the meeting starts at 6pm it is advisable to arrive no later than 5.45pm to allow for security and time to get to the committee room. It will not be possible for latecomers to be escorted to the committee room. If you have any specific access requirements or if you require personal assistance in the event of an evacuation please get in touch prior to attending the event.
